sorry for the suspense

so here's the story. basically i need to take 4 more level 4000 modules before my graduation. and there are only 5 offered this semester. well this came as no surprise since i already plan to take teh remaining 4 level 4000 modules since last semester. simple mathematics calculation 5-4=1: this one module left i have already taken last semester. so bottom line: i need to take all to meet my 8 level 4000 requirements.

in arts we have this thing call module preference, where everyone rank their preferences before cors start. BUT i (and many others) were not allocated ANY modules when cors started. still nevermind considering we are year 4s so technically we should have sufficient points to outbid the year 3s or whoever.

no. i was so wrong. got three 4000 modules. and one gem. so 1 level 4000 module short. there i was thinking everything would be ok since i'm graduating and i went for the class that i was not offered, seems to me it was the smallest class that i have been so far, so they should have given me the module. WELL NO. even after the appeal. recieved a phone call i did -

hi, your appeal did not go through instead we are offering you a level 5000 module.
me: oh what is this level 5000.
reply: money and banking. me: WHAT!? (background information: this is the module i almost fail last sem thanks to the stupid lecturer gave us wrong regressions to run) i can't possibly take this level 5000 is there any other modules. and i went for the class and the class size was very small can't you just open up one more space for me?
reply: no.
me: but i need this module to graduate.
reply: yeah. so we are offering you money and banking.

yeah. so both ways either i graduate with very bad results or i don't graduate. so immediately i had to go beg my profs to allow me to do my ISM. well well. sucks big time as well. imagine the time line. i recieved the phone call on the 15 jan, thursday. it was so late because year 4s can only appeal for their modules after bidding, stupid rule number 1. registration for ISM was on 12 jan. so even if i manage to find a prof that is willing and nice enough to take me i am late for registration. sucks.

so 16 jan. time to beg the profs. first prof failed. met his quota totally. next prof. totally desperate since he is my last bet. discussed and beg for half an hour. finally agreed. thank God. went to the office to look for the admin officer in charge of ISM. on MC -_- so get the form anyway. completed the form on 16 with all the necessary write ups. stupid form i must say. what the hell is students obligation.

19 jan
1030 - met with my ISM coordinator, signed and approved.
1034 - met the admin officer who is back from MC, nice and accepted my late form. told me that she could not give me a verbal confirmation since it depends on the system as well.
11.51 - received a call from her again. module has already been preallocated to me but will have to check cors latest tomorrow to see updated status. should be updated by tmr if not give her a call.
11.57 - check cors but status is still not updated yet. should be there by tmr. fingers crossed.

at times like these you just have to remind yourself, what doesnt kill you make you stronger. but i must admit this is the first time in my four years i have bowed so low to get what i want. always a good lesson learnt. welcome to half of the real world.

thank you friends who gave me advice, to those who assured me, those who prayed for me, and those who were concerned.

i will update on my graduation status tomorrow.
