a few drops of good luck can make a hell of a difference

my returned journey to singapore was an absolute mess. fortunately i met this wonderful uncle that really made my day. so the story starts with me getting tickets from a weird company. i presumed it would be alright, but aah, i was wrong. so i got on a bus that was not even meant to reach singapore. how bizarre - all these bus companies are CROOKs! i even thought it was perfectly normal when it turned into larkin, made sense cause it was on the way. but everyone left the bus, leaving me and this other guy staring helplessly at each other. i wanted to get down and take 170 back. wonder what got to me that day, i did not feel like being stepped all over SO i asked the bus driver politely. well he got the idea and sent us to the custom. and THEN he shoved a ten dollar note to a passing bus and called us to hitch a ride. ridiculous..

bad luck never ends after one incident. it was an empty bus that we ride on after that. quite scary after i think back. glad that i was crossing the border in one piece, filled with enthusiasm to get my passport scanned. the computers in the immigration hang! i mean ALL! we were stuck there for almost half an hour. interestingly enough, i was not mad but having nasty thoughts of it being such a good plan if it was a sabotage. a true blue opportunist i am :)

things started to take a better turn after all those misery, the nice bus uncle actually fetched me all the way to clementi, which was way nearer as compared to golden mile. at times like these, you can only look at the brighter side of things and thank God for it.

i think i need a holy bath. so a few days later, here i am doing some grocery shopping to kill time because my schedule was mixed up. while queuing to pay, i walked up to the shortest queue (who wouldn't) BUT this in turn became the longest waiting queue ever because that one customer in front, who only bought 2 fans, wanted the darn cashier to tie them with rafia strings. the wait was never ending. another queue another self-entertainment session. did not get angry at all because i imagined myself at the cashier panicking with angry stares from that long queue that was waiting for her to finish tying the darn boxes. can't help but feel sorry. even told her it was ok with a smile when she apologized.

told you bad luck never stop at one. as i was running late because of that queue, i hopped onto the fastest bus. lo and behold, after the bus reverse to leave the interchange, the engine died jamming up the entire bus stop and we poor customers had to wait for her to restart the cursed engine. well the attempt was a complete failure. had to hop on to the replacement bus instead. yet, zen as i was, actually pitied that bus driver instead. this ability to look from their shoes instinctively is definitely weird..

but the day did not end bad, instead with high spirits - had such a great shopping experience after that and a sumptuous meal too - had a bowl of steak korean noodles smiling cheekily back at me, as if telling me: your day can not get any worse if it started off really bad, so don't fret :p

so here i am announcing to everyone :) I'M BACK :D stronger and happier than ever.
