the beauty? of language
saw this part on the news and i found bono superb. not exactly a fan of his musical works but i think his efforts in helping the africans is really respectable. so here is the excerpt:
G8 leaders announced a $60 billion pledge to fight AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis with great fanfare but many activists were disappointed that they failed to set a timetable for the spending plans and that it contained little new money.
"They have taken language hostage. We wanted numbers but this is burobabble," Bono said, criticizing the lack of a timeline and the fact that the pledge did not apply specifically to Africa.
"It is not real in any language. We are looking for accountable language and numbers. I might be a rock star but I can count."
hilarious i must say. the sarcasm is respectable. :D its just like how sometimes ppl would give u that face when i say i am from arts, more so econs. u mean econs are considered an arts subject. yes ARTS student can count too :D
this past few weeks i realize words can only do so much. when u want to forget about something, the first thing that leaves your memory are words. slowly everything will fade away.
a week ago. the only thing that left my mouth was words. words to justify, to lie, to entertain, to understand. but now they all dont matter anymore.
